Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Welcomes Katie Dick, DO, General Surgeon

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH) is pleased to announce the addition of Katie Dick, DO, to its medical staff as a General Surgeon.

Dr. Dick brings extensive surgical training and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Her clinical interests include a broad range of general surgery procedures, including minimally invasive surgical techniques, gastrointestinal surgery, hernia repair, breast surgery, and acute surgical care.

Dr. Dick earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky, and completed her General Surgery Residency at TriHealth in Cincinnati, Ohio. Throughout her residency, she distinguished herself through exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to patient care, earning numerous honors, including the ABSITE Academic Excellence Award and Outstanding Academic Performance Award. Her commitment to excellence was further recognized when she was selected by her peers and faculty as both Junior Resident of the Year and Senior Resident of the Year, reflecting the lasting impact she made on her program and colleagues.

Throughout her education and training, Dr. Dick demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing surgical care through research, quality improvement initiatives, and medical education. Her research has focused on improving postoperative pain management and surgical outcomes, while her teaching experience has included mentoring medical students and residents through didactic lectures and educational programs.

Dr. Dick's connection to south-central Kentucky extends back to her time as a medical student, when she participated in research and quality improvement projects at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Her work supported efforts to enhance cancer care quality measures and improve preventative health initiatives within the region.

As a general surgeon, Dr. Dick is committed to partnering with patients and their healthcare providers to deliver individualized treatment plans and compassionate surgical care. She believes in educating patients about their treatment options and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes.
